The “Red-breasted Geese satellite-tagging” story was yesterday (21 February 2013) the most viewed item on The Guardian's environment news pages:

In the meantime, Vasco - one of Red-breasted Geese bearing satellite transmitters, was photographed a few days after the tagging feeding in a mixed flock of Redbreasts and Whitefronts near the lakes, by our colleague Daniel Mitev. Signals from the other RBG with satellite transmitter, Asparukh, and 7 of the birds marked with GPS radio transmitters have also been recorded in the area several times since the tagging. The birds’ behavior seems quite normal.
