09.02.2013

BSPB - LIFE + "Safe ground for Redbreasts" project team, together with the Green Training Center and Community Center "Zora" in Shabla celebrated World Wetlands Day - February 2 with one day advance.
In a presentation to students in second and third grade from school "Asen Zlatarev"- Shabla the student Dimitar Dimitrov from school "Stefan Karadzha" - Kavarna explained facts about birds and wetlands in the region. Then 8 students from second and third grade presented to their classmates the plants in these wetlands.
With a fun quiz the participants confirmed the lessons learned from the two presentations, and finally in the end of the event the new BSPB video "Red-breasted Goose" produced by America for Bulgaria Foundation and Mono Collective was shown for the first time in Shabla was presented. Except the beauty and fragility of the Red-breasted geese the video reveals the importance of the wetlands in the area. The children left the Green Training Center with a great desire to visit the lakes of Shabla and Durankulak to see live their wildlife. With smiles, good feelings and a lot of knowledge about wetlands they will be remembering the event and expecting their next visit in the coming months.
