WINTER ADVENTURES FOR THE CHILDREN IN COASTAL DOBRUDZHA

The cold weather in November and December didn't stop the enthusiastic children from "Stefan Karadja" secondary school in Dobrich and "Stefan Karadja" secondary school in Zhitnica from going to the project area to sea the places where the globally endangered red-breasted goose winters. Over 50 students between 4th and 8th grade visited the Shabla, Durankulak and Srebarna lakes and remained impressed by the nature there despite of the low temperatures. By observing birds with optics, quizzes and funny games, they got to know the species there. The catching and the marking of Redbreasts by the scientific teams was re-created with one of the games and the children were sympathetic to the professionals' work with this so important for the area species.
